The person · Homo Completum

Forming people.

Personal leadership and character, worked patiently, the way clay is formed on the wheel.

The culture · Culture Engineering

Shaping culture.

Circles of peers where trust, belonging and good habits take shape together.

The institution · Philocracy

Strengthening society.

Service and responsible leadership that strengthen Glasgow and the places we share.

The name

People grow in relationships. Relationships strengthen the places we share.

clay/kleɪ/ · noun

The capacity to grow and be formed with intention. Every person arrives with it. ClayHuts offers the hands, the tools and the time to work it.

hut/hʌt/ · noun

A place of belonging and encounter, where knowledge, trust and responsibility are built together, by people who keep showing up for one another.

When people develop character, capability, relationships and opportunities to contribute, and when institutions remove barriers, communities gain greater social, cultural and civic capacity.

The ClayHuts core proposition

ClayHuts is

  • Pluralistic and evidence-informed
  • About personal agency and fair institutions
  • Open whatever your faith or politics

ClayHuts is not

  • An ethnic professional club
  • A one-day event organiser
  • A partisan platform
  • A project of cultural assimilation

Intellectual foundations

Three frameworks. One testable mission.

The person, the culture and the institution. Each framework is still developing, and ClayHuts will teach it, test it and publish what it finds, including the results that disappoint.

Spirit Soul Body

Homo Completum

What does it mean to become a mature, integrated and responsible person?

An emerging Spirit–Soul–Body model offers a philosophical lens on the whole person. ClayHuts turns the useful parts into inclusive, voluntary learning.

Six dimensions of development

  • Moral
  • Intellectual
  • Emotional
  • Relational
  • Practical
  • Spiritual or existential

What it looks like in a session

  • Self-awareness
  • Habits
  • Reflection
  • Emotional literacy
  • Communication
  • Physical wellbeing
  • Purpose
Spiritual and existential reflection is always optional, and kept clearly separate from validated psychology and health science.

All three are developing conceptual systems. They are not presented as clinically or scientifically proven, and no academic accreditation is claimed. An independent research advisory council and community reviewers will critique them in public.

Programme architecture

Five ways in. One pathway.

Training, peer community, service, a national summit and a research institute, connected so that each step leads naturally to the next.

    The participant journey

From discovering yourself to developing others.

Every stage asks for something you can show. Here is the path a participant takes, and the evidence ClayHuts will look for at each step.

      Evidence of need

      Why Scotland. Why now.

Scotland is becoming more diverse, and opportunity, safety and belonging are still unevenly shared. These public statistics make the case for a careful, community-validated pilot.

Need is not proof that a programme works. None of these figures measures demand for ClayHuts itself, and populations and definitions differ between sources. ClayHuts will collect baseline, completion and 3–6 month follow-up data, and publish its limitations and null results alongside its successes.

        Delivery roadmap

Prove it small. Grow it carefully.

A small model in Glasgow first, strengthened across Scotland, then tested elsewhere. Nothing expands until it passes the gate before it.
